It is a very common assumption that our partner will know where our will is when we die, and when there’s only one of us left it is also common to think that telling our kids that everything is under the bed, or in the bottom draw is all that really needs to be done.
A huge proportion of wills are not found when needed resulting in an intestate death. Wills are also lost to damage and not accepted by the Probate Office and of course house fire and flooding are also responsible for intestate deaths.
Documents held in Paper & Digital’s storage service alleviate these concerns. The documents are held in a fire and flood protected environment in solicitors vaults ready for retrieval when the time arrives.
Your will(s), LPAs, Trusts etc are protected from loss, damage and destruction by house fire and while we look after them for you amendments are free of charge.
Our storage service makes sure your wills (and other documents if included) are protected, nobody can interfere with them or conveniently lose them if the instructions don’t suit their circumstances.
Storage certificates for retrieval are provided to clients and their executors and retrieval is actioned with a simple phone call, but only to the parties named on the certificates of course. If the address details have changed for the named party requesting retrieval then ID will be required along with a copy of the death certificate.
